Opening New Ryan Homes Manufacturing Plant

NVR's Building Products operation is expanding it's support of construction operations in Virginia with a new manufacturing facility. The new plant is set to openin early 2019. As a member of the start-up team, this position requires an initial offsite training period of approximately 4 weeks in our Thurmont, Maryland facility. You will receive one-on-one training from our subject matter experts. You will have the opportunity to interact with our Building Products group to better understand the position and company. NVR will coordinate travel arrangements during this training period. Further details of the training program are available during the interview process.

The ideal candidate demonstrates a positive attitude, willingness to learn, a strong work ethic and an excellent attendance record. You will be expected to perform your role with a high focus on quality, safety, and productivity. As a maintenance leader, your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensure plant equipment is in optimal, safe, working order and report deficiencies to management. Inspect and maintain electrical systems, equipment and components for industrial machinery.
  • Coordinate activities of a specified crew. Ensure the crew is following all safety policies and procedures.
  • Interpret schematics, prints, diagrams, and oral instructions and apply to task at hand.
  • Troubleshoot and identify hazards and diagnose malfunctioning systems.
  • Coordinate the preventative maintenance program and perform maintenance on designated equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable electrical codes.
  • Perform welding, grinding and flame cutting.
  • May perform other miscellaneous duties as instructed.


  • 5+ years experience as an industrial maintenance technician
  • Certifications preferred, but not required
  • Ability to read electrical blueprints and schematics
  • Ability to work in a strong safety-focused environment
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job, more details available upon interview
  • Working knowledge of a Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) preferred
  • Will be required to demonstrate mechanical, electrical, and general maintenance knowledge

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
