Accounts Payable Associate

NVR is looking for intelligent, highly motivated, positive, results-oriented employees to join our new Virginia Manufacturing Plant. You will have the opportunity to participate in the start-up of our newest facility. It will be a unique experience to help set the direction of the facility and make an instant impact on the business.

This position requires an initial offsite training period of approximately 4 weeksin our Thurmont, Maryland facility. You will receive one-on-one training from our subject matter experts. You will have the opportunity to interact with our Building Products group to better understand the position, as well as develop relationships. Further details on the training program will be provided during the interview process.

As an Accounts Payable Associate, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Process invoices for lumber purchases and operating expenses.
  • Act as petty cash custodian and back-up field check custodian, responsible for disbursement, per company guidelines.
  • Maintain contract/lease start and end dates.
  • Order office supplies, within budget parameters.
  • Review insurance compliance reports and distribute financial reports.
  • Manage small office accounts, such as vending accounts, as assigned.
  • Process paperwork for the plant production schedule.
  • Serve as the MRO custodian for plant operating purchases.
  • Assist with other administrative tasks as assigned and cross-train in other departments.


  • 2 years administrative/accounts payable experience preferred
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be detailed oriented
  • Proven ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Willingness to cross-train within the office
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing environments and requirements
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
