The ideal Safety Manager who will be responsible for building a culture of Safety First and implementing and maintaining the company's programs related to employee health, safety, environment and EPA/OSHA compliance in accordance with the Business Sales & Operational Plan.
Responsibilities:
-Maintains excellent Environmental Health and Safety performance and operations by fostering a culture and behavior that understands compliance is a critical to the success of the business in accordance with OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements.
-Ambitious in driving corporate social responsibility goals.
-Fosters and environment of collaboration and trust within the department to maximize employee productivity, increase retention, and minimize turnover.
-Conducts and/or leads safety and environmental inspections to control occupational and environmental hazards. Performs required and mock job safety hazards analysis.
-Leads incident investigations to reveal root cause(s), and works with management team to effectively and pro-actively implement changes.
-Maintains master files of incidents, audits, completed work orders, hot work permits & LOTO procedures, environmental records and all other records/data related to compliance
-Implements, and administers government required safety, health and environmental programs to ensure facility compliance with all permits and laws.
-Acts as a liaison with state, federal and local agencies on safety & environmental issues. Researches compliance rules.
-Generates government required OSHA & environmental reports
-Empowers employees through safety committee meetings and ensures action items are promptly addressed.
-Conducts safety and environmental training and coordinates training from vendors.
-Works with team to promote safety and environmental excellence in the workforce.
-Tracks effectiveness of company safety and environmental programs and recommends changes as appropriate.
-Holds all levels, in the company, accountable for sustaining a culture of safety.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
