5K a year Prime Care Family Practice is seeking a friendly, energetic, and self-motivated Medical Billing and Coding Specialist to join our team.
Our medical billers are integral to providing excellent service to our patients.
An outgoing and positive personality plus excellent customer service skills over the phone and in-person are critical.
Positive attitude and willingness to learn are a must.
Experience in a medical office is required.

Full time position includes a benefit package (including health, dental, vision) after satisfactory completion of a 90-day probationary period.
The Medical Billing Specialist is responsible for accurate claims submission, accounts receivable follow-up, payment posting, EOB and COB processing, credit balance refunds, bad debt and collections along with the other responsibilities listed below.
Duties include (but may not be limited to):
Research denied, unpaid or pending claims.
Contact payers and/or patients for resolution Respond to correspondence from payers Effectively communicate with physicians, staff, insurance & patients to resolve billing issues Post and review charges in accordance with correct coding guidelines Timely filing of claims; both electronically and by paper Assist patients with questions regarding their account and insurance benefits Collect delinquent accounts by establishing payment arrangements with patients; monitoring payments; following up with patients when payment lapses occur Prepare letters, statements and correspondence to patients Greet and welcome patients Scan and update demographic/insurance information Handle incoming phone calls Process medical insurance information and verify patient eligibility Post payments both ERA and manual Handle collections on delinquent accounts Process patient and insurance company refunds Provide positive customer service to patients Performs other duties assigned by Practice Manager Requirements Be honest, dependable and have an excellent work ethic Have at least 2 years' experience in a medical office CPC, CCS-P, CPB, or equivalent coding certification is preferred Have knowledge of insurance verification and rules Be detail-oriented Able to work independently at home and collaboratively remote Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines Have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel High School graduate or equivalent Experience with eClinical Works EMR is a plus Job Type:

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
